Former Medford Cinemas Might Become Casino

Report says the empty location is a possible contender.

The long abandoned site of the Brookhaven Multiplex Cinemas off Exit 64 of the Long Island Expressway on the Southern Service Road might see new business in the form of a slot machine casino.

According to a Newsday report citing "Town of Brookhaven and business sources," the Medford site is emerging as a contender for Suffolk Off-Track Betting Corp's electronic slot machine casino.

The site currently has a parking lot for about 2,000 cars on the 35-acre site.

Officials from Suffolk Off-Track Betting Corp. declined comment in the report.

Do you think the site could become a casino? What would you like to see come to it? Talk about it in the comments below.
